The current Bluewater Bar & Grill has a rich and colorful past in downtown historic Friday Harbor. We have kept with the integrity of the building, and its original purpose, a “saloon”. We occupy what used to be the “Front Street Café”, and before that, it was an expansion built in 1906 as a poolroom for the original Saloon Best. The Saloon was built in the late 1870s and may be the oldest saloon in town! With minor changes we have updated the building and hope our new establishment remains true to the pioneering spirit of historic Friday Harbor. We proudly boast the longest bar top in Friday Harbor, and feel the original saloon owner, John “Jack” Douglass would be proud. Please stop by and see our historic photos anytime!
